Increased Synthesis of Thromboxane A2by Platelets from a Patient with Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome

Increased thromboxane synthesis capacity was demonstrated in platelets from a patient with hemolytic uremic syndrome by the measurement of [1-14C] TxB2 converted from [1-14C] arachidonic acid. Whether such potentiated platelets are a possible risk factor of this disease is discussed.
