A signaling level simulation for IS-95 mobile communication network
1999
A signaling level prototype simulation testbed is developed for the purpose of evaluating the performance of the IS-95 mobile communication system. The testbed consists of an interface, a simulator, a database, plus a display of the statistical output. Event management is done in the time-driven manner. The simulated performance measures include call blocking probability, call drop probability, channel utilization, and system loading. The results can be used to evaluate the system performance, to improve utilization and efficiency of each network device and link, and to re-configure the system.
