The present invention estimates the life of a battery when used in accordance with various current patterns, and estimates the estimated battery life, together with the reason for said life, without requiring real-time measurement. This degradation estimation device comprises: a degradation-prediction-calculation condition unit to which conditions for using a battery are input; a degradation-estimation-formula/degradation-coefficient determination unit that selects a degradation estimation formula and a degradation coefficient for said battery on the basis of cycle-prediction calculation conditions that have been calculated by said degradation-prediction-calculation condition unit; a resistance-change calculation unit that calculates a change in resistance on the basis of said degradation estimation formula and said degradation coefficient determined by said degradation-estimation-formula/degradation-coefficient determination unit; a voltage-prediction-model calculation unit that calculates a predicted voltage by using a voltage prediction model determined on the basis of said cycle-prediction calculation conditions, and the value of said change in resistance calculated by said resistance-change calculation unit; a degradation-over-time warning assessment unit that executes a warning assessment on the basis of said predicted voltage calculated by said voltage-prediction-model calculation unit; and a degradation-over-time warning display unit that displays the assessment of said degradation-over-time warning assessment unit.
