Proceedings of the 2011 international ACM workshop on Ubiquitous meta user interfaces

2011
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the Ubiquitous Meta User Interfaces (Ubi-MUI) workshop 2011. Nowadays, there is a growing research community in the field of interactive systems that can be deployed for intelligent environments. The major characteristics of such environments are the increasing number of embedded intelligent devices (ubiquity) into the background (transparency). The Ubi-MUI 2011 workshop intends to cover research that addresses representation of intelligent environments, concept of Meta user interfaces, and implementation and evaluation aspects. Using Ubi-MUI, users could observe, analyze, understand, control, and customize the adaptive behavior and context-dependent interactions of their surrounding. Addressing the challenges of such research venue is a community-spanning effort, necessitating the pooling of resources and experiences of different research groups. The aim of this workshop thus is to provide a link (1) between these different research groups and (2) between the academic communities and industry groups. The call for papers attracted 10 submissions. The program committee accepted 4 papers that cover the following topics: control of smart homes with easy touch, gamification of intelligent environments, object detection, multimedia systems for nutrition intake monitoring. We are very confident that you will find this workshop to be very valuable.
