Device for producing spherical hydraulic substance

PURPOSE: To obtain the spherical hydraulic substance useful for producing highly strong moldings by spraying and cooling the melted hydraulic substance. CONSTITUTION: A cement raw material is melted in a melting oven 1 and subsequently transferred into a holding oven 3. The holding oven 3 has a nozzle 4 thereunder. The melted product 2 is sprayed into a tank 5 through the nozzle together with a high pressure gas charged from a high pressure gas bomb 8 or compressor. In the tank, the sprayed melted product is cooled into a spherical or powdery cement due to its surface tension during the process, and the cement is recovered in powder tanks 7 through a cyclone 6. A vacuum method or a centrifugal method except the gas atomization method is adopted. A cement raw material such as lime stone, clay, silica, slag, bauxite or iron raw material, a proper combination of coal ash, incineration ash, etc., or a hydraulic substance such as a cement or a cement clinker or their mixture is employed as the raw material. The diameter, particle distribution and crystallinity of the spherical particles are controlled by changing the surface tension, particle size, spraying condition and cooling condition of the melted substance.
