The characterization of the collaborative economy must encompass all those new business and social realities related to the profound change that is taking place in recent years due to the emergence of technological platforms that create digital spaces in which citizens can exchange their resources (already be goods, services, time, knowledge, skills) and at the same time generate more efficient ways to connect, create and share value. Certainly, its relationship with the model of consumer and user cooperatives is referred to by its purpose with the supply of goods and services acquired from third parties or produced by themselves, for use or consumption by members and those with whom they live, as well as education, training and defense of the rights of its partners in particular and consumers and users in general. Moreover, given the necessary delimitation of a legal framework of the collaborative economy, nothing prevents it from being considered the species within the genre that is the social economy.
