A New 5.3V" High-Brightness Beam-Index Display

1985
A beam-index color CRT has a number of advantages over a conventional color tube.1~7 For example the conventional color tube is less bright than a beam-index color tube. And in a conventional tube, when the cathode current and the accelerated-voltage are raised in order to get more brightness, nearly 80% of the energy is absorbed by the mask, so the mask becomes warped and the beam doesn't land correctly.
