Pollen Atlas of the flora of Egypt 5. Species of Scrophulariaceae

Light and scanning electron microscope study of the pollen grains of 47 species representing 16 genera ofScrophulariaceae in Egypt was carried out. Pollen grains vary from subspheroidal to prolate; trizonocolpate totrizonocolporate. Exine’s sculpture is striate, colliculate, granulate, coarse reticulate or microreticulate. Seven pollentypes are recognized and briefly described, a key distinguishing the different pollen types and the discussion of itssystematic value are provided.
