Active fibre components for ultra-high speed photonic systems

Advanced active fibre photonic components for 40-100 Gbit/s systems are discussed, including a widely tunable ultrashort pulse fibre source (PM-EFRL), a polarization-maintaining fibre booster amplifier (PM-EDFA), and a polarization-insensitive ultra-high-speed non-linear fibre multiplexers (PI-NOLM).
