Artificial epitaxy (graphoepitaxy) of proteins

Abstract The oriented growth of protein crystals on amorphous substrates containing a crystallographically-symmetric microrelief (artificial epitaxy, or graphoepitaxy) was demonstrated experimentally for the first time. Possible orientation mechanisms are discussed.
