Photometric and spectroscopic observations of ν Eridani and analysis of its pulsating modes

Abstract A Fourier analysis applied to photometric data of ν Eri obtained in November 1991 yielded three periods, P 1 = 0.2150d, P 2 = 0.1766d, P 3 = 0.1508d. P 1 and P 3 are nonradial modes with l = 1 and 2, while P 2 is a radial mode. Spectra of the star near SiIII (4567 A) were obtained in December 1992 and were analyzed for variation in the profile. The widths and radial velocities of the SiIII 4567 A and 4574 A lines were measured.
