Resonance raman excitation profile for the 848 cm−1 totally symmetric mode of the chromate ion☆

Abstract By using a pulsed dye laser, a detailed Raman excitation profile for the ν 1 (A 1 ) mode of CrO 4 2− in aqueous solution was measured throughout the 1 T 2 - 1 A 1 , transition at 372 nm. The Raman profile showed a shoulder around 384 nm which was tentatively assigned to a vibronic structure.
