Copper Impurities in Zinc Electro-deposits

The paper reports on the effect on the zinc electrodeposit caused by copper which is present as an impurity in zinc electroplating solutions containing cyanide. The effect of addition agents, temperature, and current density of the co-deposition of copper are detailed. The influence of co-deposited copper on the colour and reflectivity of the deposit and the effect on corrosion resistance are discussed.
