Disclosed are an eight-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) and a gear-shifting control method thereof. The eight-speed DCT comprises a first input shaft, a second input shaft and an output shaft. A first input clutch, a one-gear driving gear, a first synchronizer, a seven-gear driving gear and a three-gear driving gear are installed on the first input shaft. The one-gear driving gear and a five-gear driving gear are used in common. A second input clutch, a four-gear driving gear, a second synchronizer, a two-gear driving gear, an eight-gear driving gear, a third synchronizer and a reverse gear driving gear are installed on the second input shaft. The two-gear driving gear and a six-gear driving gear are used in common. A four-gear driven gear, a two-gear driven gear, an eight-gear driven gear, a reverse gear driven gear, a one-gear driven gear, a seven-gear driven gear, a three-gear driven gear and a fourth synchronizer are installed on the output shaft. The one-gear driven gear and a five-gear driven gear are used in common. The two-gear driven gear and a six-gear driven gear are used in common. The eight-speed DCT and the gear-shifting control method thereof are adopted, and the eight-speed DCT is simple in structure, provided with a small number of parts and small in occupied space.
