Procedure for plants again become tolerant to HPPD-inhibitor herbicides by circunvalacion the metabolic pathway HPPD.

2001
Procedure to re-tolerant plants inhibitor herbicide dioxygenase hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid (HPPD), characterized in that expressed in such plants at least hydroxyphenylacetic 4-insensitive enzyme said HPPD-inhibiting herbicide which converts hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid (HPP) in acid (4-HPA) and HPAH and insensitive to said inhibiting herbicide HPPD which convert 4-HPA to homogentisate and which at least one of these enzymes is heterologous HPAC, and for which the HPAH comprises an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO 8 and fragments thereof, and the HPAC comprises an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 10, SEQ ID NO 12 and SEQ ID NO 14 and fragments thereof.
