SPONTANEOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF GALLSTONES

1960
To the Editor:— In the article "Spontaneous Disappearance of Gallstones" inThe Journal, Oct. 24, page 1098, the case history is most interesting, but the fact remains that only one recheck of the cholecystogram (Oct. 16, 1958) was made. It is possible to see in figure D the same stones as are seen in A and B. Everything I have said so far is based on the fact that I can see the stones in D, as can my colleagues, but whether the stones are visualized or not in C and D, I do not believe that this is worthy of report until this patient has had repeated cholecystograms, an exploratory operation to rule out the stones, or postmortem examination to show their absence.
