Developing data quality objectives for aquifer tests

1989
Data quality objectives (DQOs) are qualitative and quantitative statements that specify the quality of data required to support various decisions based on the use of such data (EPA, 1987). DQOs are established during project planning to ensure that the data collected are of sufficient quantity and adequate quality for their intended use. They are typically expressed in terms of precision, accuracy, representativeness, completeness, and comparability (PARCC). Once established, DQOs aid in the selection of appropriate data collection techniques that will cost effectively meet data needs. 3 refs.
