Timpanometría de multifrecuencia en el vértigo de Menière unilateral durante las intercrisis
2003
The analysis of the admitancy of the middle ear in
patients with Menieres disease shows contradictories
results in the differents articles published. The objective
of our study es to analyse the resonant frequency in
patients with unilateral Menieres disease. For this
reason, we have studied 20 patients in a intercritical
period, which didnt show any other ear pathology
(tympanosclerotic plaques, previous surgery...). We use
the contralateral ear as a control, in each of the cases.
For calculation the resonant frequency, we use the
Virtual model 310 tympanometer, through susceptance
tympanogram.
The mean resonant frequency in Menieres patients
was 11305 Hz (range: 710- 1600 Hz) and 1109 Hz
(range: 800- 1400 Hz) in controls, without stadistical
differences. Neither was stadistical differences in
tympanometric amplitude (979 daPa front to 901) nor
in static admittance (08 front to 06). For this reason, we didnt find, ijn our study, an increase of the stiffness of the ossicular chain, as a consequence of the less mobility of the annular ligament, due to the endolymphatic hypertension on ears with Menieres disease in a intercritical period.
