Evaluación en vivero de especies con potencial para sistemas agroforestales en el estado Trujillo, Venezuela Nursery evaluation of species with fodder potential for agro forest systems in Trujillo state, Venezuela

2010
With the purpose of evaluating plant height, stem diameter, diameter, number, longitude and diameter of branch, leaves and root quantity of Albizia lebbeck, Leucaena leucocephala, Eritrina fusca, Swietenia macrophylla and Furcraea foetida, an experiment was carried out in the National Institute of Agricultural Research, Trujillo, Venezuela. A completely at random design with time sampling and ten replications by species was used. At the end of evaluation, F. foetida showed the highest plant height (36 cm), stem diameter (1.66 cm), branch diameter (0.78 cm) and branch length (29.92 cm) (P 0.05). Through the principal components analysis could be showed that all variables had high numeric fluctuation except length and root number. In this way, plants height, stem and branches diameter, and branches length showed a negative relationship with leaves, branch and root quantity. The results could conclude that differences on species behavior in nursery are due to each intrinsic morph structural characteristics.
