Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of malaria in Shenzhen areas in 2007~2010,and provide the scientific basis for developing control strategies.Methods The datum on surveillance and incidence of malaria from 2007 to 2010 were collected and analyzed using descriptive epidemiological methods to indicate its distribution characteristics.Results 82 cases were imported,accounting for 61.2%(82/134),and the annual average malaria incidence was 0.025 per million.There were 49,33,28,15,7 and 2 cases reported in Luohu,Baoan Longgang,Nanshan,Futian and Yantian district respectively.About 59.7%(80/134)of malaria cases were concentrated in 20~40 age group.The season distribution of malaria cases featured one peak period occurred during June~ August.Workers and peasants working outside and travelers from malaria epidemic areas,such as Africa and South-east Asia,were high risk populations of malaria.Conclusion The epidemic situation of malaria was stable in Shenzhen areas,which may be influenced by imported malaria cases,so the control of imported malaria be strengthened.
