The pattern of distribution of blood flow in dog limb bones measured using microspheres
1987
The most satisfactory technique for studying bone blood flow in experimental animals employs the indicator fractionation method with radioactive microspheres. Although some questions about the validity remain unanswered, the technique has been successfully used to study blood flow in the whole or part of the skeleton in several species. This contribution considers the distribution of blood flow in the leg bones of dogs and in particular the temporal variations arising from various manipulations.
