Research on Maximum Power Tracking Strategy of 10MW Medium Voltage Six Phase Permanent Magnet Wind Turbine

Offshore wind power generation system shows the development characteristics of large capacity, modular structure, lightweight and so on. With the increase of power in wind turbine system, the topology of medium voltage multilevel converter system has the advantages of simple structure and low control complexity. In order to achieve the maximum wind energy capture of high-power permanent magnet wind turbine, a maximum power tracking control method for wind turbine with six phase permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and NPC three-level converter is designed in the paper. The optimal torque setting value is calculated according to the measured speed, and the double dq control current loop is established by the feedforward decoupling method. The maximum power tracking of six phase PMSG is realized by the double closed-loop PI control. The grid connected control strategy based on the grid voltage orientation is designed for the grid side converter. The simulation results show that the power output of the converter can follow the change of the wind speed, which proves that the control strategy proposed in this paper has the best wind energy tracking performance.
