Probabilistic Seismic Assessment of Structures with Underground Stories

2018
In this thesis,a probabilistic analysis of buildings with underground Stories has been investigated.. Some seismic standards are suggested simplified methods for analysis and design of buildings with underground stories. One of the important tools in the evaluating seismic vulnerability of structures is using accurate analysis methods such as incremental dynamic analysis to determine seismic demand and capacity of structures. Also, modeling and soil surrounding buildings in the abaqus software was designed in three dimensions. Behavioral models for soil, elasto plastic is intended. models reviewed in this research four buildings with different modes, which include twelve-story building with three underground stories,twelve-story building with seven underground stories. In this study, the incremental dynamic nonlinear analysis to compare the models by changing the type of soil and Number of underground stories been used.In the stiff soil under the foundation, the presence of the soil behind the underground wall affects the structural responses, and the failure to consider the back of the wall causes unrealistic results. Also, the number of underground floors and the type of soil surrounding the building has a significant impact on structural responses.
