The present invention discloses a multiple tank series tetramethylammonium carbonate method and apparatus for the continuous preparation of salts, each of the reaction mass liquid phase reactor connected in series through a pipe, connected in parallel to the gas phase, the pressure balance between the reaction vessel, by a difference in level in the reactor the reaction mass from the primary reactor into the next self-level, the level difference between the two reactor difference 0.5-1.0 meters. The starting material dimethyl carbonate, trimethylamine and methanol at a molar ratio of solvent 1:0.8:3-1:1.5:8 continuously fed to the first reactor tank, the reaction mixture flows continuously from the final stage tank reactor , reaction solvent and the unconverted reactants through flash recovery, re-enter the first stage reactor recycle, removal of the solvent and the reaction material was obtained unconverted tetramethyl ammonium carbonate product. Minimum operating pressure of the present invention, a smooth reaction, continuous operation and automatic control, by the reaction itself while the reaction mass is heated to heat the reaction temperature, can save energy, reduce production costs.
