The concept of consciousness;its seat: present and future

One is at ease in talking about the state of unconsciousness, coma and death, but it is still an enigma to define consciousness. The best way we can define consciousness is ability to interact with environment. Much recent effort has focused on the neurobiological underpinnings of the conscious stage, beginning with experimental studies isolating the roles of several core human brainstructures. In this paper we present the definition and features of state of consciousness and its implications.
