Electronic structure and magnetic property of DBTTF radical ion complexes

Abstract The polarized reflection spectra of the crystal of DBTTF radical complexes were measured and the electronic structures of DBTTF radical systems were determined by the theoretical analysis of the observed spectra. Furthermore, the magnetic susceptibilities of the complexes with Cu 2 Cl 6 2− and Cu 2 Br 6 2− were measured over a temperature of 2 - 300K. The magnetic behavior conforms to a modified Bleaney-Bowers equation, indicating the existence of the spin coupling within Cu 2 Cl 6 2− or Cu 2 Br 6 2− and the antiferromagnetic spin interaction between Cu 2 Br 6 2− .
