The invention provides a special mechanical soft start transmission for chain hauled machinery, which comprises an input shaft, an output shaft, a first differential motion planetary transmission mechanism, a second differential motion planetary transmission mechanism, a first brake and a second brake. The first brake is in transmission connection with a secondary output component of the first differential motion planetary transmission mechanism so as to selectively brake the secondary output component, and the second brake is in transmission connection with a secondary output component of the second differential motion planetary transmission mechanism so as to selectively brake the driven output component. As the special mechanical soft start transmission is provided with the two differential motion planetary transmission mechanisms and the two brakes, one or two differential motion planetary transmission mechanisms can be selectively controlled. The special mechanical soft start transmission is high in selectivity, more accurate in control and more reliable in brake.
