Study on the effect of size of lanthanide-ethylene glycol-bis(2-aminoethyl ether) tetraacetate complexes in the exchange reactions with copper(II) ions

1988
Abstract The rate of exchange between lanthanide-ethylene glycol-bis(2-aminoethyl ether) tetraacetate (EGTA) complexes [Ln(EGTA)] and copper(II) ions is directly proportional to the concentration of the H + ions, the [LnEGTA] complexes, and also the copper ions. The following mechanism is valid for the exchange reactions of the LnEGTA complexes with Cu 2+ ion where Ln 3+ = La, Eu, and Lu: .
