Treatment of nonmetastatic osteosarcoma

1994
19 nonmetastactic, nonresectable and extremity Iocalised osteosarcoma patients were treated with cispfatinum and epirubicin combinationin preoperative period. Patients above 13 years ofd also rdeived radiation therapy between the first two cycles. All patients had a Iimb salvage operation. At the post operative periode they continued to receive adjuvant chemotherapy according to their tumor necrosis rate To patients whom tumornecrosis rate was 5 courses of chemotherapy and they wereac cepted as a protocol violation and, excluded from the study. In 4 patinets metastatic disease was experienced within 12-20 months. 2 patients are still continuing to receivetheir adjuvant chemotherapy. We think that this is an efective and Well tolerated regimen. Better results can be obtained with addition of ifosphamide to primary (neoadjuvant) chemotherapy.
