The invention relates to a method for producing a corrosion-resistant and oxidation-resistant coating. Furthermore, the invention relates to a component having such a coating. According to the inventive method, a component from a component material and a slip material are provided, whereby the slip material in addition to a binder containing at least one metal powder, the metal powder of at least 25 consists wt .-% of at least one metal of the platinum group, and either of sheathed powder cores is formed, wherein the powder cores are formed of at least one metal of the platinum group, and wherein the sheaths of the powder cores are formed of a base equal to the component stock material or is formed from a powdered metal alloy which in addition to the at least one metal of the platinum group contains at least one base with the same component material material. The slip material is at least partially applied to the component to form a slurry. The slurry layer is then cured or dried. Subsequently, a heat treatment of the at least partially coated with the slip material component to diffuse the slurry coating into the component.
