Physiologic considerations in restrictive lung disease.

Abstract In this paper we have defined and classified the term “restrictive lung disease” and have outlined the commonly observed abnormalities of blood gases and standard tests of pulmonary function. We have also briefly described the factors influencing tests of pulmonary function and have tried to provide a rational basis for the observed abnormalities of these tests.
