THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF RESEARCH FACILITIES FOR A POWER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Some of the problems met in establishing, in a country of limited financial and technological resources, atomic energy research facilities capable of supporting a power development program are outlined. In addition to discussing the general policy underlying the selection of the site, and the type of research program to be undertaken, technical and cost details of the irradiation and active handiing facilities found necessary for a limited power research project are given.
