Deep music on air

The evolution of technology in past few years highly influenced our daily life under many aspects. Very recently, the advent of more effective machine learning algorithms facilitated the explosion of the application of artificial intelligence in several areas. As a consequence, the investigation of the relation between human and autonomous machines is under the spot in research, industry, art and more. The artwork we present here is our contribute to this investigation by exploiting immersive audio-video performance in the aerial space, Aerial Media Art (AMA). In particular Deep Music on Air is a performance that aims to provide an N-dimensional visualization of music, through the motion, rotation and lighting of a swarm of drones. We employ Deep Neural Networks trained to listen to a music piece, and we connect abstract generated knowledge to the immersive light performance on air provided by the swarm of drones.
