Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) in the frontal plane using ring electrode configuration

1995
Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) basically gives a two dimensional transverse image of the human thorax. Based on the understanding of the effects of objects in the third dimension it has been possible to obtain and interprete images of the lungs ventilation and stomach emptying using a ring electrode configuration in the frontal plane. A reusable spring loaded electrode system mounted on a single frame has been developed which has made it very convenient to obtain images besides reducing the cost of investigations using considerably.
