Protease variants with multiple substitutions.

Protease variant, which is a variant of a precursor protease of Bacillus lentus subtilisin having the sequence shown in Figure 3, said variant characterized by having the same net electrostatic charge at pH 7 or the same isoelectric point being that said precursor protease and comprise an amino acid sequence having substitutions R170SA1R, R170S-G61R, R170S-N204R, R170S-S216R or R170S-G100R relative to said precursor protease, wherein the positions of said substitutions are equivalent to the specified positions in the subtilisin mature Bacillus amyloliquefaciens shown in figure 3.
