Sistema de telemonitoreo de oximetría en tiempo real (OXYS)

2017
Pulse oximetry has been introduced into medical practice as a quick, accurate and noninvasive method, which allows to measure peripheral arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2), helping to detect cardiorespiratory diseases in patients. The ICT's (Information and Communication Technologies) consolidation has allowed in telemonitoring the integration of wireless technologies for the capture of real-time information acquired from patients; however, problems related to oversized devices, high number of connections and sensor placing difficulties are still studied by worldwide research groups. This article presents the development of a pulse oximetry telemonitoring system, with self-calibration features, GUI photopletismographic signals, data storage, wireless communication, oxygenation and heart rate in real time report. Functional features were given to ensure ergonomics, strength, flexibility and adaptability through the use of electronic components and calculation software, which permits applying induced noise reduction techniques, intermediate variables manipulation, and erroneous measurement reduction, among others. The prototype involves not only signal processing techniques, transmission protocols, functional modules integration and storage components, but also the development of a model probe, for reliability and support of information.  Keywords— Photoplethysmography, Oximetry, Monitoring, Biomedical Telemetry.
