Geopark "Łuk Mużakowa" - proponowany transgraniczny obszar ochrony georóżnorodności

Zgodnie z programem ochrony dziedzictwa Ziemi prowadzonym przez UNESCO i IUGS, środowiska geologiczne Brandenburgii podjely inicjatywe utworzenia Geoparku "Łuk Muzakowa" (Muskauer Faltenbogen). Glownym zadaniem tego geoparku jest zachowanie dla przyszlych pokolen unikatowej w skali światowej struktury glacitektonicznej wraz ze śladami dawnego gornictwa oraz walorami środowiska przyrody ozywionej, w powiązaniu z ideą promowania edukacji i geoturystyki. Podstawowymi obiektami ochrony na obszarze geoparku są geotopy, czyli szczegolnie cenne fragmenty litosfery, ktore powinny byc udostepniane dla nauki, edukacji oraz ruchu turystycznego. Na obszarze geoparku utworzone zostaną centralne ośrodki obslugi ruchu turystycznego, lokalne muzea, miejsca wystawiennicze i edukacyjne. Pierwszym etapem prac zmierzających do powolania Geoparku "Łuk Muzakowa" byla inwentaryzacja i ocena geotopow na obszarze Niemiec (Brandenburgii i Saksonii), a nastepnie na obszarze Polski. Zinwentaryzowano geotopy typu odsloniec geologicznych, form rzeźby terenu, pozostalości po dawnej eksploatacji wegla brunatnego, ilow ceramiki budowlanej oraz kruszywa naturalnego, a takze budowle architektoniczne z glazow narzutowych. Dalsze prace nad utworzeniem geoparku powinny zmierzac do uszczegolowienia sposobu jego udostepniania poprzez opracowanie planow zagospodarowania turystycznego geoparku oraz koncepcji edukacyjnego prezentowania zagadnien związanych z dziedzictwem geologicznym i historycznym. “MUSKAU ARCH” GEOPARK — SUGGESTED TRANS-BOUNDARY AREA OF GEODIVERSITY CONSERVATION Summary Following the UNESCO/IUGS Programme on Earth Heritage, geologists of Brandenburg started to organise the “Muskau Arch” Geopark. Conservation of a unique (in a global scale) glaciotectonic structure, together with elements of historical mining and values of inanimate natural environment, and promotion of education and geotourism should be the main goals of the Geopark. The geotopes – elements of lithosphere particularly valuable, which should be accessible for scientific research, education and geotourism—are the basic elements. Tourism centres, local museums and exposition/education centres will be established. The first stage of the organising works on the “Muskau Arch” Geopark includes making an inventory and evaluation of geotopes in the Brandenburgian and Saxonian parts of the Muskau Arch (”Muskauer Faltenbogen”) and later also in the Polish part (”Łuk Muzakowa”). Some kinds of geotopes, such as geological outcrops, forms of land surface, remains of historical mining of lignite, ceramic clays and aggregates, and also buildings made with glacial boulders have been evidenced. More detailed project of accessibility of the Geopark area, i.e., project of tourist infrastructure and concept of presentation of geological and historical heritage from the education viewpoint, should be a subject of the further works on the Geopark organisation.
