Performance Analysis of Effect of Modulation Index on Single Phase Front End Converter

The present paper represents the analysis of effect of modulation Index on performance of Single phase front end converter by varying the modulation index. The front end converter is basically AC to DC converter. The developed mathematical model is converter in Simulink model. These front end converter simulink model is simulated on MATLAB-Simulink using different value of modulation index. The effects of variation in modulation index is reflected in %THD, overshoot and under shoot, and stability. Pulse Width Modulation techniques are basically used to reduce the average delivered power so that energy can be saved. Many PWM based schemes have become popular but these techniques are utilized to switching frequency and fundamental frequency.
