Interference-Suppressed Asymmetric Symbol Rate Transmission Over Single-wavelength Bidirectional PON

This paper proposes the suppression scheme of interference from backward reflection on single-wavelength bidirectional transmission in optical access network systems using asymmetric symbol rate. We obtained 2.6-dB gain of signal-to-interference power ratio at 2.5-fold symbol rate ratio for the QPSK signal.
