Synthesis of 2-Ethylhexyl Palmitate Under Microwave Irradiation

2-Ethylhexyl palmitate was synthesized by microwave irradiation with palmitic acid,isooctanol as raw material and p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst.The yield is 99% when the molar ratio of alcohol to acid is 3∶2,reaction temperature is 110 ℃,reaction time is 30 minutes,mass fraction of catalyst is 0.17%(based on total mass of reactants) and water-carrying reagent is added.By contrast with the conventional heating method,this method is better with short reaction time,convenient operation and high yield.
