Clinical Observation of Ulinastatin in the Treatment of Pediatric Sepsis

2012
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy and safety of ulinastatin in the treatment of pediatric sepsis. METHODS:40 children with sepsis were randomly divided into ulinastatin group(n=20) and control group(n=20) . 2 groups were given anti-biotics and symptomatic treatment. Ulinastatin group additionally received ulinastatin 20 000 U·kg-1·d-1 intravenous 3 times a dayfor 5 days. Before treatment and 1,3 and 5 days after treatment,PCIS and body temperature were recorded, and WBC,CRP,bio-chemical index of liver and kidney function and coagulation function were determined. RESULTS:The body temperature,CRP andPCIS of ulinastatin group were improved obviously on the 1st day after treatment(P0.05);the body temperature and PCIS ofcontrol group were improved obviously from the 3rd day(P0.05) . The CRP of control group decreased obviously from the 5thday after the treatment(P0.05) . No adverse drug reaction was found in liver and kidney function and coagulation function wasfound in ulinastatin group. CONCLUSION:Ulinastatin can inhibit inflammatory response in children with sepsis and it also im-proves patient's ill condition. It is a safe and effective drug for the treatment of sepsis in children.
