La enseñanza a distancia con el aula virtual en la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Carabobo

Since 2005, the Engineering School at the Universidad de Carabobo employs distance learning to complement in-classroom activities by means of the Aula Virtual de Ingenieria, AVI (Engineering Virtual Classroom). In this paper, we describe the relevant aspects of this learning tool, and we show a statistic evaluation of its usage and online activities. In this paper we describe the characteristic aspects of this most important ICT tool and present usage statistics and online activity. We also show a qualitative study of the current course design and future plans to improve the AVI’s impact on the teaching-learning process.
