Grading Lachman Test for Torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament

Anterior cruciate ligament injury is one of the most common sport injuries. Lachman test is the physical examination used to diagnose torn anterior cruciate ligament because of its high sensitivity and specificity. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the accuracy of Lachman test in diagnosis how completeness of torn anterior cruciate ligament. The target population were the 61 patients who diagnosed torn anterior cruciate ligament at Khon Kaen Hospital: male 52 patients ( 85.25 %) female 9 patients( 14.75 %) mean age 28.20 years ( 28.20 +8.31 ) sport injury 46 patients ( 75.41%). From the study, the accuracy of Lachman test for diagnosis completeness of torn anterior cruciate ligament is high; Sensitivity = 93.88 %, Specificity = 58.33 %.The benefit of this diagnostic test may be reduce the process of arthroscopic examination and operative time.
