Reviewed waveguide properties of the pipeline for liquid or gaseous media and features of the reflection of elastic waves from the step discontinuities in the form of a segment of the pipeline of the modified section. It is established that the movement of the medium filling the pipeline, significantly affects the passage of waves in the pipeline. Occurs the waves of the parameters of the waveguide structure for mutually opposite directions, so that changes the interference pattern arising due to the presence of reflections of waves from inhomogeneities in the structure. The obtained generalized formula of reflection coefficients from stepwise discontinuities waveguide of finite length. The lack of reflection of waves from the heterogeneity of the structure depending on the signal frequency and the speed of motion of the medium. It is shown that the measurement frequency, which is achieved by the minimum of the reflection coefficient can be used to calculate the speed of the environment.
