Using radon for studying groundwater circulation in the Gargano promontory (Apulia, Italy).

2000
The Gargano promontory (Apulia, Italy) contains a massive little-exploited groundwater reserve. By measuring and analysing radon concentrations and chemical-physical characteristics of samples from wells and springs, we studied the groundwater circulation in four sectors forming the Gargano area, the relationship between the different sectors, the effect of the tectonic structures, and intruding seawater.
