The invention provides a four-DOF (degree of freedom) hybrid robot having large work space. The hybrid robot comprises a plane 3-DOF parallel mechanism and a first driving mechanism, wherein the plane 3-DOF parallel mechanism is provided with a first fixed platform, and the first driving mechanism is used for providing driving force for the fixed platform to move linearly. According to the hybrid robot, the fixed platform of the plane 3-DOF parallel mechanism is set to be linearly movable, so that the work space is increased, and better dynamic characteristics and small accumulated errors are realized.
