Manufacturing and commissioning of static excitation systems for synchronous generators at HPP 'Bočac'

Manufacturing and commissioning of the excitation systems with electrical braking for synchronous generators in HPP 'Bocac', which were performed in the time of machine repair in 2009, are described in this paper. The main parameters of excitation system, exciter, voltage regulator, thyristor ignition, electrical braking algorithm, data acquisition system, protection functions, measurements and signaling are described. Dynamic responses recorded at the time of system set-up, which are relevant for excitation system work are presented.
