A Hybrid Bidirectional Push-Pull DC-DC Converter with a Ladder Switched-Capacitor Cell

2019
Dc-dc power conversion has been an important topic research in the last years, due to increased use of distributed generation, electric vehicles, energy storage and uninterruptible power supplies. In these applications, it is common to have situations where there’s no specific load or power supply side, that is, both sides can behave like a power supply or a load, which highlights the importance of studying bidirectional converters. This paper proposes a new hybrid push-pull dc-dc converter with a switched capacitor ladder cell and will be presented the converter analysis, deduction of mathematical equations of static gain and design, control strategy and simulation results. The advantages of this topology are bidirectionality, soft switching, high gain, natural voltage clamping, reduced switch voltage and high-frequency isolation.
