ÖVERSLAGSDIMENSIONERING AV PLATTRAMBROAR Optimering av produktionskostnad och miljöpåverkan
2020
This study aims to make a preliminary design of an integral bridge with frame
abutments, and to see how the frame’s thickness for common spans and heights
affects cost and environmental aspects. This is done to give a better starting
point when designing slab bridges in future projects.
A slab bridge is modelled and analysed with the use of the computer software
BRIGADE/standard with parameters such as length, height and frame thickness
being varied. Eight result lines, along and across the bridge frame, are chosen
and the reinforcement needed is calculated with the ConcreteDesigner beam
software. These are used for estimating the total steel reinforcement needed for
the frame.
The frame’s steel reinforcement is studied to assess how the different
parameters affect the amount of reinforcement needed, and if it is possible to
estimate the amount of reinforcement needed for a bridge of different
dimensions.
With the estimated necessary reinforcement together with the calculated amount
of concrete, it is investigated how the cost and environmental effects are
affected by having the cross section thinner or thicker.
The study shows that both the production cost and the environmental effects are
lowered by having a thinner cross section, i.e. it is cheaper to build in a more
environmentally friendly way.
