Phase transition in Pb(Mg1/4Co1/4W1/2)O3 ceramics

Polycrystalline samples of Pb(Mg 1 / 4 Co 1 / 4 W 1 / 2 )O 3 ceramics were prepared by the high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. Preliminary crystal structure and microstructure of the compound at room temperaturewere studied using the X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) respectively. Detailed dielectric studies suggest that the compound undergoes successive phase transitions at 87°C and at 105°C. Variation of dc conductivity as a function of temperature suggests the semiconductor characteristics of the material.
